Overview of each course:

Yoga- Yoga has an ancient past dating back some 5000 years, somewhere in India.It is relatively new in America gaining popularity over the past 50 years taking on a variety of forms, practices, philosphies and spiritual methodology. I will not be advocating the spiritual practices I will teach the the benifits of fitness and well being as well as a form of cross training and preparation for athletic and life endeavors.

FROSH PE

“Frosh PE” is a fun course at San Ramon. In “Frosh PE” students learn the value and principles of life long physical fitness and how to apply these principles in their daily lives. In addition, students participate in a variety of team, partner, and individual activities which provide them with a taste of future athletic opportunities both at San Ramon and in life. “Frosh PE” also provides students with an educational setting to develop the skills associated with team work, determination, leadership, hard work, and a positive attitude. The following is a list of just some of the activities students can expect to try at various times during the year in “Frosh PE”.

NET SPORTS

The "Nets Sports" class at San Ramon High is a course that provides students with an opportunity to participate in a variety of inidivual, partner, and team sports that put to use volleying skills relative to a net. During class students will learn the skills, tactics, and strategies pertinent to these sports through various forms of tournament play. In addition students will learn the value of teamwork, independance, and accountability. The following are the 4 primary sports students can expect to participate in during the semester.

TEAM SPORTS

In "Team Sports" students participate in league and tournament play in a variety of team related sports. In addition to learning the rules, strategies, and tactics of these sports students will also learn the value of physical fitness, team work, and accountability. The following are some of the sports students can expect to participate in during the semester.

Weights...Basic purpose of Weight Training is to strengthen muscles,achieve muscular endurance, prevent and rehabilitate injuries,and imjprove muscular efficiency and ability in sports. The class will include basic weight training techniques, safety habits, terminology and work outs.
